Teen Pregnancy: What’s the big deal?
June 17th, 2009Ok… so how many teens these days experiment with sexual practice? Um… a lot. Parents don’t think we teens would do it, but hello! The hormones are raging and teens dont know how to control them very well. The thing is, we dont think before we act. Abstinence is best, but there are some teens who practice sexual activities anyway. so teens should also be shown how to practice safely and responsibly.
Teen pregnancy has sky rocketed in the past few years, and its scary. Some are lucky and are provided with any aid from their parents, but some aren’t. Parents have been known to do horrible things to their daughters who tell them they are pregnant. They will throw them out, call them very vile names, even physically abuse them. Recently a law was almost passed and it stated that the parents should be notified if their daughter is getting an abortion. That could’ve put some teen’s in danger. But besides that, there are other things to worry about. For instance, if they keep the baby, what will they do to provide for the baby? Babies are not cheap. That thing is constantly crying, pooping, eating or sleeping. If ur lucky, it will be a quiet baby (lol).
I would go more into detail, but i think its enough info for now. Plus i want to hear ur thoughts!!! I do suggest for those who have sex, please use a condom. Parents I know you don’t like me saying that, but they are doing it whether you like it or not. I am sure you’d rather them play safely, whether you accept it or not. Birth control is good too, but condom is best. Ok well send me ur comments, I’d love to hear what you think!
P.S. There is a teen prevention program called “Why Shouldn’t I Be Sexually Active?” and it facilitates responsible sexual decision making with the parent(s) involvement. We just had an event June 6th, and there are more planned for the 2009-2010 school year. The link is on this site, just look it up!
